2021 Northern Sierra Wildfires

Dixie Fire

The Dixie Fire started on July 13, 2021. The fire burned on the Plumas National Forest, Lassen National Forest, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and across five counties: Butte, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta and Tehama. It started a little northeast of where the infamous Paradise fire occurred.

On August 5th it burned through the Green Valley taking the town of Greenville with it.

River Fire

What was known as the River Fire started on August 4th. Firefighters on August 13th gained full containment on the River Fire, but it had burned more than 2,600 acres, destroyed more than 100 homes and injured four people in Placer and Nevada counties.
